I knew I shoulda takin' a left at Albuquerque
Put down your gps, if Key West is where you're headed, you made it! If you are looking for something different we have it. I'm not talking about our diverse population of street performers and generally colorful locals, I'm talking about clear and glass bottom kayaks. You may ask why clear kayaks? My response: Why does Wonder Woman fly an invisible jet? Because it's cool! You feel a little more apart of nature and a little less of an intruder. However, not everybody can be easily impressed. Recently Clearly Unique received a review pointing out "this certainly was not Hawaii and all he saw under the kayak was sea grass". Well sir, you are correct. Key West is approximately 4,788 miles from Hawaii. You shoulda taken a left at Albuquerque! But I would like to point out that we are also not Pennsylvania, Kansas, Iowa, etc... I think, even on a bad day, it's pretty darn awesome here. But that's not the comment that actually rubbed me the wrong way. It was saying he only saw sea grass! Only sea grass! Only sea grass! Well obviously he doesn't know how spectacular sea grass is, so let me tell you all about it. Sea grass is a highly diverse ecosystem and harbors hundreds of species. For example: many species of juvenile fish and mollusks. Sting rays and bigger fish just love to hunt those little buggers. Sea grass itself is also a highly important link in the food chain. It feeds green turtles, manatee, fish, sea urchins and crabs. Unfortunately, so far, we've been unable to form a union to get these creatures to show up on time. We are working on it, but in the mean time our guide keeps a sharp eye out to help you see everything that shows up. Is that all I have to say about sea grass? No there's more! Did you know sea grass produces oxygen and helps protect against coastal erosion? Well it does. In fact sea grass produces much of the oxygen we breathe around here. Sea grass meadows account for more than 15% of the oceans total carbon storage(the ocean absorbs about 25% of global carbon emissions). So when you pack up that suv and head to the keys; you can relax and take a deep breath of freshly produced oxygen, knowing our extensive sea grass meadows have got your back:)
