Put down your gps, if Key West is where you're headed, you made it! If you are looking for something different we have it. I'm not talking about our diverse population of street performers and generally colorful locals, I'm talking about clear and glass bottom kayaks. You may ask why clear kayaks? My response: Why does Wonder Woman fly an invisible jet? Because it's cool! You feel a little more apart of nature and a little less of an intruder. However, not everybody can be easily impressed. Recently Clearly Unique received a review pointing out "this certainly was not Hawaii and all he saw under the kayak was sea grass". Well sir, you are correct. Key West is approximately 4,788 miles from Hawaii. You shoulda taken a left at Albuquerque! But I would like to point out that we are also not Pennsylvania, Kansas, Iowa, etc... I think, even on a bad day, it's pretty darn awesome here. But that's not the comment that actually rubbed me the wrong way. It was saying he only saw sea grass! Only sea grass! Only sea grass! Well obviously he doesn't know how spectacular sea grass is, so let me tell you all about it. Sea grass is a highly diverse ecosystem and harbors hundreds of species. For example: many species of juvenile fish and mollusks. Sting rays and bigger fish just love to hunt those little buggers. Sea grass itself is also a highly important link in the food chain. It feeds green turtles, manatee, fish, sea urchins and crabs. Unfortunately, so far, we've been unable to form a union to get these creatures to show up on time. We are working on it, but in the mean time our guide keeps a sharp eye out to help you see everything that shows up. Is that all I have to say about sea grass? No there's more! Did you know sea grass produces oxygen and helps protect against coastal erosion? Well it does. In fact sea grass produces much of the oxygen we breathe around here. Sea grass meadows account for more than 15% of the oceans total carbon storage(the ocean absorbs about 25% of global carbon emissions). So when you pack up that suv and head to the keys; you can relax and take a deep breath of freshly produced oxygen, knowing our extensive sea grass meadows have got your back:)

Kayak the backcountry of Key West with Clearly Unique Charters and see all the waters of Key West has to offer. You'll be blown away by our front-row seat and view of our underwater world. Our tours combine kayaking and snorkeling aboard completely clear and glass bottom, two person kayaks. Glass bottom viewing allows you to see the fascinating world of Key West's mangrove islands above the water and the diverse eco-system of the ocean floor below. On our kayak tours you can explore Key West's beautiful, peaceful and diverse backcountry.

Kayaking with Clearly Unique Charters is a must for visitors to our island because you can experience and see so much at once. Take a Key West eco tour on our clear kayaks, and you’ll enjoy watching wildlife above and below the surface. Since these kayaks are completely clear, guests are able to see right through to the bottom of the shallow waters, catching glimpses of unique marine species that make their home in the vast mangroves of Key West.

Our kayaking excursion begins when we depart Key West aboard the 33-foot Beach Cat catamaran, which transports 16 adventurous passengers out to the natural habitats of the mangrove islands and Key West's backcountry. Upon arrival at the backcountry, guests climb aboard the 100% clear two-person kayaks (that are easily maneuvered by just one person) to go explore the area.

In addition to kayaking, guests on can also use our complimentary snorkel gear to explore Key West snorkeling in the clear, shallow waters of the backcountry. The area we visit is also close to a shallow boat, which provides some excellent snorkeling and glass-bottom viewing opportunities.

Our Key West kayaking charters are 3-hour excursions and drinks and snacks are provided. These tours are designed in a "create your own adventure" style, giving guests flexibility in the type of activities they want to explore. With Clearly Unique Charters, you can explore Key West snorkeling, kayaking, bird-watching and wildlife sightseeing all in one day. If you have taken a trip with us in the past, we look forward to seeing you again! Reserve your kayaking trip aboard our clear kayaks today!
